The order covers the supply and deployment of 100 nine-metre and 815 twelve-metre standard-floor non-air-conditioned electric buses. The vehicles are designed for urban operations and are intended to deliver zero-emission transport with a focus on operational efficiency and passenger service.
The contract represents a significant addition to India’s growing electric bus pipeline and aligns with national efforts to electrify public transport fleets. The PM E-DRIVE (Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement) scheme is aimed at accelerating electric vehicle adoption, strengthening domestic manufacturing and reducing urban emissions.
According to the companies, the deployment is expected to support improved air quality, lower reliance on fossil fuels and enhanced mass transit performance in Hyderabad. The LOA also builds on previous electric bus orders secured by EKA Mobility under CESL programmes, including deployments across Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Puducherry and Meghalaya.
