BYD has introduced its first high-floor electric bus for the European market: the B12.b HF.
The launch marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to expand its zero-emission portfolio beyond city buses, bringing long-distance capability and intercity versatility to its line-up.

The 12-metre B12.b HF is built around BYD’s latest Blade Battery technology, which is fully integrated into the chassis structure. This design, unique to BYD, enhances safety while also reducing weight and improving energy efficiency. With a battery capacity of up to 495 kWh, the B12.b HF can deliver a claimed range of up to 655 kilometres on a single charge.

The vehicle supports multiple charging solutions, including AC, DC (with both single and dual-gun options), and pantograph charging, helping to minimise downtime in different operational scenarios. A high-power drive axle can also be specified to boost climbing performance on routes with steep gradients.
The B12.b HF offers a 5.7 m³ luggage compartment, making it well-suited to intercity, commuter, and tourism services. Inside the cab, drivers benefit from BYD’s DiLink multimedia screen, wireless charging, and a modern ergonomic layout. For passengers, optional features such as an onboard refrigerator add to comfort on longer journeys.
